(March 4th, 2019 — Jersey City) Saturday, March 2nd, the Explore Parent Student Association (PSA) held the annual pancake breakfast. Students, families, and staff braved the snow to have breakfast, spend time together, and support the Explore community.
The PSA teamed up with Explore’s Chef Mario Rodriguez to serve a breakfast buffet that everyone truly enjoyed. “It was great to see the community come together in support of our Explore students,” Chef Mario stated. “We truly have a great thing going here thanks to all of the parents, students, and staff that make it happen every single day.”
Thanks to the hard work of all involved, the PSA raised close to $1,000.
6th-grade parent, Wendy Schor-Haim shared, “I loved seeing the community of parents working together with each other and with Chef Mario, who was so enthusiastic and seemed to be in five places at the same time, staying on top of everything!”
Schor-Haim continued, “Each time I’m at the school, I appreciate the warm atmosphere and the way kids from all grades know each other.”
Math teacher, Mrs. Bontigao, attended the pancake breakfast with her family. “Saturday was filled with joy and laughter and delicious food. Being away for four months, on maternity leave, I sure missed the family feeling that Explore Middle School has. It is nice to be back and I couldn’t ask for a better first week back that ended with that enjoyable fundraiser.”
The PSA hopes to host another community-based event this spring.
