Ms. Mariel Teschlog is in her seventh year at Explore Middle School and her fourteenth year in education. She received both her BS and MA from The College of New Jersey, as well as additional certifications from Saint Peter's University and Kean University.

Ms. Teschlog currently teaches Social Studies 8. Her goal is to develop her students’ understanding of our nation’s history so that they feel more empowered to engage in its future. She encourages her students to critically examine sources, ask thoughtful questions, and engage in collaborative discussions. Ms. Teschlog also teaches IXL Math 6 & 7, as well as CTE.

After school, Ms. Teschlog moderates Open Learning Lab, Movie Club, and Board Games Club. Outside of school, she enjoys keeping up with current events, attending concerts and athletic competitions, and planning future travels.
