Explore Middle Schools Welcomes Hundreds at Open House

(October 24th, 2019 — Jersey City) The staff, students, and administrators at Explore Middle School welcome hundreds of people interested in becoming a part of their school community at the annual Open House.

5th graders throughout Hudson County interested in applying to Explore, along with their family members and guardians met various faculty and staff members were given tours of the school by current students, and attended application information sessions.

Faculty members from each department including social studies, math, science, language arts, technology, and music were present to share curriculum information, thematic unit connections, and answer general questions. Current students assisted each of the faculty members by sharing their first-hand experiences.

“I enjoy any opportunity to brag about Explore. It was a pleasure meeting so many eager prospective students and having the chance to address all of their questions, big and small. Our students did an excellent job of making everyone feel comfortable and I was so proud to hear how they spoke about our school,” 8th grade language arts teacher Ms. Justine Franco shared.

School Counselor Ms. Mariel Teschlog spent time speaking to groups about Explore’s career technical education classes as well as group guidance classes. While social worker, Ms. Martha Rand, provided insight on the school’s character development curriculum.

Other information from the evening included details about field trips, school-wide assemblies and celebrations, and community service projects.
